Vichi Productions (VP) is a California corporation with Martin Fusi as its officer. Our primary purpose is the development and production of African and African American-themed films, as well as the employment of African and African American actors in leading roles. Over the next few years, the Company plans to produce independently-financed feature films. During recent years, the movie market has become more open to stories about ethnic groups. Films with Black themes have led the way and proved that there is a market. Our goal is to make educational and inspirational films about Africa and the African Diaspora. Research indicates a growing presence of Africans in America, as well as a well-educated African American middle class that seeks satisfaction in educational and inspirational films. Furthermore, Africa is a considerable market eager for such educational and inspirational films. The time is right and the window of opportunity is open for low- to medium-budgeted motion pictures.
Vichi Productions is a privately owned California corporation that was established in January 2005. Our principal purpose and business is to create theatrical motion pictures. The Company plans to develop and produce high-quality, family-oriented, themed films that portray positive and inspirational images of Africans and African Americans.
The public is ready for films with positive, inspirational themes. Big-budget inspirational and educational films have opened the market over the last 10-15 years. In addition, the changing racial demographics and the rise of the social status of ethnic minorities are an indication of the changing tastes of minorities in today’s society. The objectives of VP are as follows:
1. To produce quality educational and inspirational films that provide positive family entertainment with moral messages designed for both enjoyment and education.
2 To make films that celebrate the achievements of Africans and African Americans that will be exploitable to a mass audience.
3 To produce feature films and TV, with varying budgets
4 . To develop scripts with outside writers.
5 To explore overseas co-production and co-financing potential for the company.
6 . To distribute our films through independent distribution companies.
There is a growing need and hunger for serious films about Africa and Africans in the diaspora. We can make exciting films starting as low as $1,000,000 without sacrificing quality. Until recently, there was a dearth of minority family films. However, with the emergence and success of films like District 9, Black Panther, and Everything Everywhere All at Once, the picture has changed in the United States. Family-oriented educational and inspirational movies are parents’ best friends and children’s best friends, and these are the people who drive the box office.
We plan to shift the focus of movies about ethnic minorities, with a particular emphasis on those featuring African characters, while providing meaningful and wholesome entertainment that will appeal to the entire family. Given the growth of the family market, and also the growth of African and African migrants in America and Europe as a significant part of the movie-going audience, the positive image of ethnic minorities has been undermined. The positive image has been underexploited and undervalued. Part of the growth of the family market has been attributed to the historical success of “feel-good” films during economic downturns; additionally, there has been a global emphasis on returning to traditional family values. For these reasons, films about racial minorities with sophisticated and modern storylines have been making a comeback at the box office, appealing to moviegoers of all ages.
VP’s films will feature positive, historically and socially significant African heroines. It will also feature recognizable moments in history and society. The Company perceives a large pre-sold audience.
The core value VP seeks to promote the production and global distribution of high-quality films and TV series, thereby further amplifying Global Africa’s cultural influence worldwide. In doing so, VP will serve as a catalyst to attract and direct crucial patient capital into Global Africa’s film and TV production industry, mobilizing resources that will enable filmmakers and storytellers to produce world-class content that resonates globally.
